Pietra SANTAFIORA |
Santafiora is a stone made of clastic sedimentary rock - also known as sandstone - which is steadily compacted by calcite and characterised by varying colours ranging between sand and hazel. Santafiora stones range: Chiaro, Fiammato, Leopard, Venato, Uniforme, Perla. Santafiora stone is extracted in huge blocks, which allows supply in bigger slabs. Guaranteed for its technical-mechanical features, our stone is not affected by any external agents such as smog, frost, acid rain or salt. Santafiora can be used in any kind of climatic and environmental condition. Today’s northern area of Lazio and Tuscan Maremma - boasts an orographic landscape rich in stones which make this area a unique field. Santafiora Pietre places itself at the very core of this territory and of its history. Its broad fields ensure uniform quality standards for all extracted materials in terms of both colours and physical/mechanical features. Our stones are history-proven, as they were used in the past for huge works such as the Roman theatre of Ferentum as well as in Viterbo, the renown “City of Popes”. A highly valuable material in furnishing, Santafiora is a warm-coloured stone which provides creations with evocative, natural polychrome effects. Additional workings such as polishing, flashing, sandblasting, and bushhammering give further aesthetic effects which make the stone a versatile element for countless applications. Anti-skid properties and non susceptibility to frost (certified by major European laboratories) make this stone particularly suitable for squares, old towns and facings of wide areas under shape of both continued and externally insulated walls. Santafiora ensures resistance to anaesthetic dark oxidation (caused by smog). Moreover, since it is not susceptible to frost while provided with a strong tensile strength, Santafiora is particularly suitable for wide externally insulated walls which are exposed to sea salt or placed in earthquake belts. |
